What the Blind man hears – Flatulent Speech

Well, it’s been awhile since our last time together. To tell the truth, I just haven’t found anything worth putting in podcast. Things were starting to sound the same, no one was posting provocative ( non political) things on the internet. Needed a muse for this to mean something again…

Joe Bonnamassa – Blue and Evil - (born May 8, 1977) is an American blues rock guitarist and singer. He began his career playing guitar in the band Bloodline, which featured the offspring of several famous musicians (such as Miles Davis, Robby Krieger of The Doors, and Berry Oakley of The Allman Brothers Band).[1] He released his first solo album A New Day Yesterday in 2000, and has since released nine more solo studio albums, four live albums and three live DVDs, along with two albums with the band Black Country Communion and one album in collaboration with vocalist Beth Hart.

Nadir – Conspiracy www.distortedsoul.com/
Some artists defy classification. Detroit-based rock and soul insurgent Nadir rebels against it. So true to form, Nadir’s Distorted Soul Sound Pack for producers, beat makers and DJs, arms you with a stockpile of original rock, funk, jazz and soul kits, instruments and loops for your production arsenal.
Love Spiral - Our_Nights

Love Spirals Downwards was begun by multi-instrumentalist Ryan Lum and then-girlfriend Suzanne Perry. In 1991, Lum and Perry recorded a demo, which led to a contract with Projekt Records. Over its 8-year history, the band released four full-length albums, a career retrospective, and a CD single, selling (by their own account) in excess of 40,000 CDs [1]. They were also included on over two dozen various artist compilations [2], including the Heavenly Voices series released by the German label Hyperium Records.

Zak Hurd – Endless Summer http://www.myspace.com/zhurd

Originally from Maine. After graduating from college, he toured in the duo Causeway, performing at colleges, clubs and festivals across the country. More recently, he has established himself as a solo artist in the New York City music scene, appearing in clubs like The Living Room, The Bitter End, Rockwood Music Hall, and Canal Room.

Jean Synodinos –Waiting for the light to change http://www.reverbnation.com/jeansynodinos

Jean Synodinos delivers grit, grace and acoustic soul for the big kids in the room. Her voice has been hailed by critics as “big league,” and her award-winning writing (including the prestigious Kerrville New Folk competition) digs deep lyrically, moving from big affirmations to little ironies at the turn of a phrase. Deftly skating between genres, Jean is known for dynamic performances and delivers shows that keep audiences returning for more.

2 Headed Cow – http://www.reverbnation.com/play_now/song_11146807

Barfly Originally from Florida this duo now hails from KC. They perform as a duet up to the full band.

Beau Hall – Can I get some loving - http://www.unsigned.com/beauhall

Beau Hall, a 12th-generation musician, singer-songwriter plays a blend of funk and rock and blues, and mixes it into what he calls "the soundtrack for mating tyrannosaurs". He's been writing his brand of music for 20 years; a mix of prince, Stevie ray Vaughan and inxs, a hint of Beck, some Rolling Stones - there's a little bit of everything in there. His live shows are the clincher. Love this man. He needs it.

Preacher Stone – Not today - http://www.reverbnation.com/preacherstone
Preacher Stone was formed in January of 2008 by Marty Hill and Ronnie Riddle. This band knows the recipe for any down home rock appetite.
They've captured the classic rock sound while holding true to their southern roots! Their driving musical style of high energy /hard country offers a classic vibe with a modern experience.

Fred Mcdowell - What’s the matter now
McDowell was born in Rossville, Tn. in the year 1904. His parents, who were farmers, died when McDowell was a youth. He started playing guitar at the age of 14 and played at dances around Rossville. Wanting a change from plowing fields, he moved to Memphis in 1926 where he started to work in the Buck-Eye feed mill where they processed cotton into oil and other products.[4] He also had a number of other jobs and played music for tips. Later in 1928 he moved south into Mississippi to pick cotton.[4] He settled in Como, Mississippi, about 40 miles south of Memphis, in 1940 or 1941, and worked steadily as a farmer, continuing to perform music at dances and picnics. Initially he played slide guitar using a pocket knife and then a slide made from a beef rib bone, later switching to a glass slide for its clearer sound. He played with the slide on his ring finger.[5] www.last.fm/music/Mississippi+Fred+McDowell
Bishop Perry Tillis – God don’t like it

Perry Tillis was born July 29, 1919, in Elba , Alabama , and began playing his brand of rambling blues at a very early age. He continued playing the blues and singing gospel, despite going blind, up until his death on November 3, 2004. In the '40s Tillis played the Chicago blues circuit alongside all-time greats likes Muddy Waters and Furry Lewis. However, when a revelation convinced him it was the devil's music, he moved back home and began preaching the gospel.
In 1972 Swedish music archivist Begnt Olsson tracked down Tillis at his church in Samson , Alabama, and recorded these tracks over three sessions. He was frail and old when Olsson found him, but he played the guitar, both electric and acoustic, with a mosquito-like fragility that is truly transcendent. www.birdmanrecords.com/bishop/index.html

Abbreviated - April Fool – What The blind Man hears?

Well, as the month changes, I find myself eagerly awaiting the renewal April will bring. On to the point of this, you will find below a shorter playlist than normal. I have learned that anything under 40 minutes is just long enough to tweak you attention span.

{Playlist) What the blind man hears

THE SPECIALIST

D Was a legendary guitarist, playing sessions with major bands…. Here is his solo album….. A must for serious guitar fans! Could this be Jimmy Page ???

Fe Fi Fo Fam - Big George Jackson Blues Band
Raw, nasty, heart-felt Chicago blues is what vocalist, harp player Big George Jackson has to offer. George's no nonsense harp and his colorful, big bass rich vocals distinguish him from many of his slick contemporary colleagues. It's nasty, dirty and harks all the way back to the rough Chicago blues from the fifties and sixties. However it's George all the way!

http://www.myspace.com/jackasspenguinshow

Sweet Child of mine – The Hemlock Gorge Boys
Hemlock Gorge Boys were originally conceived as a Hip Hop/Heavy Metal “fusion” act, the subsequent success of the 'Oh Brother Where Art Thou' soundtrack and feature film, combined with findings from an extensive demographic study of contemporaneous musical trends during that period (1999), convinced management that audiences would respond better to an acoustic, "rootsy" style of music.
www.myspace.com/thehemlockgorgeboys

Mike Zito – Roll On
Growing up in St. Louis, Missouri, Zito was immersed in the gritty sounds of the south side that would unknowingly become the groundwork of his future in music. Like the legends before him, music has coursed through his veins from the early age of five, when he began singing and performing. It didn’t take long for him to discover his instrument of choice, electric guitar, after receiving a Van Halen record for his birthday. Zito’s journey took off at the age of 19, when he busted into the local St. Louis music scene, developing his sound even further from the stage.

George Theron – I personally know George, check out his MySpace.

allofasudden-gold_plated 1
Driving rhythms, fiery guitar playing, and layered harmonies all play a part in creating the multifaceted AllofaSudden sound. A keen sense of melody and unforced psychedelia pervade everything AOS does, from big rock choruses to dirty grooves to subtly twisting progressions.

david_parker - emily_in_dark_colors
It might be too much to say that David Parker is a one-man band: a one-man duet is more like it. Parker is a live-looper. Wielding an electric guitar (usually a red one), he plays a groove into his loop-pedal (also red), stomps the pedal at just the right moment, and the riff magically keeps looping over and over. Then he solos over the top, letting blues bends and jazz lines fly. Though he’s using high tech to produce the tones, the tunes are strictly old school; Texas and Chicago blues are the inspiration for most of Parker’s playing, along with some softer, more atmospheric jazz.

Although Parker has just released two CDs, "House Blend" and the all new "Half Past Dark," featuring full band arrangements behind his guitar, his live shows are strictly solo, creating a low-volume, low-stress evening of mellow tunes.

Amy Prohler – SNL Sarah Palin Rap – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cG1g5qvgtSg

Chuck Adams – I
No band. It's just me. I just write what comes to me. I make it for me. I'm glad some say they like it. I hope you like it too.

Maria Daines – The House of the Rising Sun

It didn’t take long for him to discover his instrument of choice – electric guitar – after receiving a Van Halen record for his birthday.
http://www.mikezito.com/fr_home.cfm

Big George Jackson Blues Band – Crosseyed Annie
Playing in Europe with mostly straight hard-core blues, reminiscent to the raw, biting blues of the fifties. The band sounds tighter than ever before. No wonder that George feels so at home with his friends. His singing is relaxed but intense. I believe you all will agree... this man definitely has got Southern in his soul! He does not only write great songs, but has got a unique voice and knows to tell a story... something that's getting rare these days.
http://www.crossroads.nl/blacktan/index.html

Melou – I grow my flower’s for you

A self taught classical guitarist. He learned how to play and transpose Bach, Chopin, Mozart and others from piano to guitar . Starting in middle school playing the upright bass but after seeing the movie cross roads i wanted to play the guitar . I cant express enough how Stanley Clarke woke me up to the beauty in the sound of a masterfully played ACOUSTIC string instrument.
http://www.reverbnation.com/MelvinChenault

KellyLee Evans – Feeling Good
Kellylee Evans is a unique voice in the urban-jazz world, and many of today’s top musicians have taken notice. With a smooth style that slides through jazz, soul, R & B, blues and world music rhythms, Kellylee’s calming sound speaks volumes; Rich, soothing, robust and energizing.
